SWEET POTATO STORYBOOK

This is my grandmother’s sweet potato plant. She discovered the potato sprouting in her kitchen, and so she placed it in a jug and sprinkled water over it for months and months just to see what it would do — he grew for the better part of the year. I like to imagine the potato plant not unlike Jack’s beanstalk, stretching and swelling until its leafy tendrils overtake the sky. A verdant pillar worthy of hoisting a hero to the clouds, with just a little bit of magic. ⁣
